Meet Dominic Renteria

Candidate for Alderman  -  Appleton City Council  -  District 10

Dominic Anthony Louis Renteria, is an Appleton native who raised in the streets of District 10. Growing up at 819 ½ W Spring Street, Dominic could be spotted riding his bike to the Lincoln Elementary playground for an afternoon with friends.

After attending James Madison Middle school and entering his final semester at Appleton East HS, Dominic was accepted to the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. Determined to get his chance at college education, Dominic was able to successfully convince his Mother that he could finance his schooling by joining the WI Army National Guard. He was just 17 years old at the time.

Almost as soon as he arrived to Oshkosh, Dominic was forced to put his collegiate goals on hold and answer the call to duty. Following the events of 9/11, he was deployed to Fort Bragg, NC during the summer of 2002 to support U.S. Special Operations Command (USASOC). During the years to follow, Dominic would answer the call in 2005 to participate in relief activities following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and again in 2006 to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

2008 proved to be a big year as Dominic reached his goal and graduated with a degree in Finance. He also would enter the Banking Industry and enroll to pursue his Master of Business Administration (MBA). More importantly though, he would begin a courtship with a beautiful brunette and fellow student by the name of Lindsay.

A year later in 2009, Dominic and Lindsay would move to their current home on Lorain Court in Appleton, WI. He continued to advance in Banking and achieved his MBA in the spring of 2011.

During 2012, Dominic was asked again to serve his country and lead troops through the war torn country of Afghanistan. SFC Dominic Renteria was able to successfully bring home every member of his Platoon and in the process was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his efforts.

Since his return, Dominic has demonstrated himself to be a managerial and financial expert within the community. By 2016, he had spent more than 8 years in Finance and serving as the Regional Manager of the largest community bank in the area. In his spare time, Dominic enjoyed volunteering with Junior Achievement.

Today, Dominic has lived in Appleton on Lorain Court for more than 8 years with his Wife Lindsay and their two children (Vincent and Amelia). He is currently working for Captel Inc. as the HR/Recruiting Supervisor.
